Disney Deluxe Resort Benefits and Amenities Transportation Aside from the luxury of the resorts themselves, distance to parks and ease in transportation is a huge benefit of the Disney deluxe resorts.

The location of the resort is right next to Animal Kingdom but far removed from the rest of Disney World. Rooms are also smaller than other Deluxe resorts with the exception of Wildness Lodge.

The resort has many devoted fans and it is certainly appealing on many levels. Its ultra-modern A-frame main building is a clear giveaway. The resort opened in as one of the original hotels built on Disney World property. There are two sections of the resort — the Tower story A-frame and the Garden Wing. The Grand Canyon Concourse — located on the 4th floor of the Tower — is where you will find restaurants, shops, and the famous monorail station which runs right through the building!

Guests can either walk or ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom, and Epcot is also easily accessible by monorail by transferring to a different monorail at the Ticket and Transportation Center. People staying here can visit the nearby Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts via monorail, or hop a boat to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

The resort is host to numerous recreational activities, 2 decent pools, and some of the largest rooms on Disney World property. The amenities are top-notch and everything is modern and updated. While the Tower rooms have great views and are closer to the monorails station and restaurants, they are considerably more expensive than the standard Garden Wing rooms. The Contemporary Resort also lacks the interesting resort themes found in other Deluxe resorts.

However, we tend to prefer the feel of the other Magic Kingdom area resorts more than the Contemporary. With its magnificent architecture, white sandy beaches, Victorian-themed lobby with live jazz band , red gabled roofs, and stark white walls, the Grand Floridian exudes a classiness not found elsewhere in Disney World. But with this elegance comes a steep price — the resort has the most expensive standard rooms in the park. Despite the ultra-classy feel, Grand Floridian manages to have some simpler and kid-friendly elements.

Plus, there is a host of other on-site activities geared towards the young and restless. Guests can indulge at Senses, a Victorian-themed, full-service spa, and health club that offers massages and body treatments.

The resort is just one monorail stop away from Magic Kingdom, a boat ride away from Wilderness Lodge, and easily accessible to nearby Magic Kingdom Resorts. Epcot is also accessible by monorail. However, bus transportation is necessary to reach other destinations. The Grand Floridian is also a top Christmas destination because of its elegant Victorian holiday decorations, massive Christmas tree, and an elaborate and edible gingerbread house.

If money was no object, then this would be the place to stay. And despite its luxurious features, the resort manages to feel unpretentious and relaxed. The Grand Floridian has some of the finest restaurants in Disney, very spacious rooms, oversized pools, and easy access to Magic Kingdom. As far as negative, transportation to other sections of Disney World can be time-consuming. Staying at Grand Floridian is just too expensive for most people and not even an option.

However, if you want to splurge — or if money is no object — then Grand Floridian is a top-notch choice. Suites : 25 suites Victorian Suite, Roy O. Its interior is filled with interesting wilderness and craftsmanship elements, such as an foot working fireplace with stone hearth, majestic totem poles, wood carving decor, and even tepee chandeliers. Outside you can view the Fire Rock Geyser and hot springs, gaze out at the murmuring creek as you relax in wooden rocking chairs, or explore the nature trails winding through the nearby pine forest.

Despite its rustic theme, Wilderness Lodge still manages to seamlessly blend the untamed nature element with the elegance of a Four-Star hotel. Wilderness Lodge is also situated near the Ticket and Transportation Center. The Pop Century Resort takes you right back to the later decades of the 20th century. From bowling balls to the yoyo, experience all the most popular fads and trends of the ss. This resort stands out because of its multiple large, themed pools and even has a waterslide.

Pros: kids love the theming , can walk to Art of Animation to eat at their food court, good location near all four theme parks, newly updated rooms, located on the Skyliner transportation system. Cons: as a value resort there are no water slides, hot tub or table service restaurant, have to transfer at the Skyliner station to get to the parks.

See why this is our favorite value hotel at Walt Disney World! This less conventional option for staying at Disney World can bring great Disney savings.

From swimming to archery to horses to musical revues and more, there truly is enough recreation offered to keep you busy all day. Pros: close to the Magic Kingdom and Magic Kingdom resorts, unique and affordable option for staying on-site, pets welcome, campsites and cabins fully equipped.

Cons: longer walk or transportation to get to your campsite, less traditional resort amenities, need camping supplies. The Caribbean Beach resort offers vibrant theming, larger rooms, and beautiful landscaping. The resort has great theming for a tropical vacation vibe with plenty of pool options for everyone. Pros: as a moderate resort the pool has waterslides and a hot tub, table service restaurant available, upgrade available for pirate themed room, Skyliner transportation.

Cons: resort is spread out so you could have a long walk to your room, multiple bus stops around the resort, pirate room upgraded option is furthest from the front of the resort. We absolutely loved this hotel, read our recent review from our stay here! One of our last picks is the Port Orleans Resort.

Plus, it offers a variety of dining options and is pet friendly. And as a bonus: you'll feel like you just stepped foot onto the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
